I Love You
There have been dizzy days lately
when I just want to sleep—
when I don’t want to be roused
by things I must do
The ringing in my ears
not an alarm clock
gets louder
I must get up
To keep me calm
I refer to the ringing
as my “Celestial Song"
For someone accustomed to silence
noise is not appreciated
The dogs hear me stirring
see my light come on
They start talking
“Good morning, Mom”
“We’re waiting for you”
“We want to go out”
I respond
"I Love You"
And so, my day begins
because this is the way
I've created my life
Morning arose
in a moody gray robe
Music makes its way
past my Celestial Song
I never realize how quiet winter is
until the birds return
I do not remember the depth of color
until I see the first blossom of spring –
this morning, a yellow daffodil still droops
not ready to open
The dogs and I go inside
The day moves on

I love this!
It's raining here too.
I also awakend early, walked the dog, put the trash out, fed the dog, I made coffee and immersed myself in editing pictures. Listening to the rain, it is soothing to my spirit. Yes, it is all part of the mundane, yet it is all beautiful.
I love you.
