Do not expect others to be like you. They are not. Do not try to be like them. Love them as they are. They have not lived your life. They have not seen what you've seen. They do not experience things like you do. They do not feel what you feel. No one hears what you hear. We are all born of the light. We are all light. We all shine. When someone’s light dims, we hold them in love and light until their brightness returns.
I Love you.

“I like rough clothes
made of tree bark.
You want costly dukula cloth.
We like what we like.
We’re different and it makes
no difference.
If craving’s insatiable
that’s poverty.
If the heart’s content
who’s rich?
who’s poor?”
[Some Unquenchable Desire, Sanskrit Poems of the Buddhist Hermit Bhartrihari, translated by Andrew Schelling]
