April Seven

A blue-silver sky welcomes clouds. A noise like metal against glass shattered our sleep at 1:48, left us all too startled to rescue our hastily abandoned dreams. Hours later my heart still remembers that harsh awakening.

An orange dust rag left on the bookshelf escaped my gaze as I was gathering; a reminder that dust is still meeting with books, boxes, shelves, papers, plants, pictures, plaster heads. Do I really want to disturb them? I don’t think much can (disturb them) the air is not filled with particles seeking refuge from that noise like metal against glass at 1:48.

But even when I am afraid,

I keep on trusting You.

I praise Your promises!

I trust You and am not afraid.

No one can harm me.

Psalm 56:3-4 (CEV)
