Wednesday, February 5, 2025, 2* Quiet. Still.
Pink rims the eastern horizon a bright line between two lines of darkness. Ruger sleeps beside my chair, Zayne on the sofa, Zsolt in his room, his bed warmer than the cavern under my desk. Nothing fell from the sky last night. Nothing falls now. Blessed silence that even the ringing in my ears cannot disturb. Perhaps the ringing is a coded conversation only the body understands, music of angels, teachings of ancestors.
“Just make sure you stay alert.
Keep close watch over yourselves.
Don’t forget anything of what you’ve seen.
Don’t let your heart wander off.
Stay vigilant as long as you live.
Teach what you’ve seen and heard to your children and grandchildren.”
Deuteronomy 4:9
