Flat black, not even velvet – sky where are your stars? Where is your bright? Hushed, too early for birds. Heard a chickadee yesterday, never saw it. Bright solar lights not just dim, they give no light. No eyes can be seen with my torch. I looked yesterday for footprints on the pond, on the path, none. Snow covers holes, boulders, tangled roots, downed trees waiting to capture hooves. Snow, beautiful blanket making the ugly lovely, the wise are aware.

"Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but

the advantage of knowledge is this:

Wisdom preserves those who have it."

Ecclesiastes 7:12 (NIV)
