WILL MY VIEW EVER BE THE SAME AGAIN

I Love You

Morning arrived swallowed in fog

No bird sang

My eyes could only see the absence

of what was there yesterday

2

Rain created ponds that were never planned

Wind has broken limbs

When I look up I cannot see

where the limbs belong

where they broke from the tree

I cannot find their point of attachment

They are no longer part of something bigger

They will never hold spring leaves

They're no longer part of their family tree

I will gather but not burn them

nor remove them from their land

Here they shall remain

in the dull waiting for company

ready for nature’s next command
