I knew what was going to happen when he began pushing the canoe into the river (with me in it). I was deciding how I would react. It would have done no good, and made no sense to him, for me to yell “WAIT” . . .

ART: "By the River" 2022
We were always doing things, normal people things, when other people would not be about. That’s why we were going to canoe a section of the Royal River on a sunny November day. And then there was a SPLASH. The canoe was upright. I was in the river. I am laughing just thinking about it. I’m glad I decided to ask, “Was that really necessary?” instead of the other things I had considered.
For those of you who do not know this about me – since I was a young child - I have often been “aware of things” before they happen. Dad said I inherited grandma’s “second sight.”
I drove home, changed clothes, and we canoed a section of the Royal River on that sunny day in November.

A good story. Cold. November water isn't warm.
Awesome artwork and story Linda! Thanks for sharing!
