How do you talk to yourself? Do you talk to yourself? Do you use comforting words when you wake at night and can’t return to sleep? What are the words you want to hear? Write them down. Learn them. Say the words aloud or in your mind, over and over again. Stop holding your breath. Relax. Your words have the power to comfort you. Use them.
I love you.
ART: “The Favorite 2” 2022

[Excerpt from In Love With the World, pg 119. Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche]
“May I have happiness. May I be free.
I repeated this refrain
until I could feel the meaning
slide down my throat like
a thick syrup that takes its time.
Slowly encompassing my heart,
my lungs, seeping into my stomach,
inhabiting my legs, oozing into my feet.
May I have happiness. May I be free.
I repeated this until the meaning of the words
thoroughly soaked my being, until I softened, and
my heart opened—not as fully as I had known at other times,
but so much further than it had in previous days
that I started to cry with appreciation.
May I have happiness. May I be free.”

Usually when I talk to myself, I’m laughing because I’ve done something stupid lol 😂. But I absolutely love this excerpt and will be reading it often. Once again, thank you for sharing Linda. I love you.
