SILENCE IS KEPT

He comes and sits in a chair beside my desk as I work on my art. Some things he likes, some he doesn’t understand. Before we moved from Oklahoma to this house; when I was arranging furniture on graph paper, he asked, “Is there a chair for me beside your desk?” Some days, he would just come and sit. Sometimes he would stand behind me with his hands on my shoulders. When I started to turn off the music he had often said “goes nowhere,” he stopped me.

From the time we first met, we said few words. Like soft twinkling lights, our thoughts ran from one to the other. When we spoke, almost in unison it was the same words, the same thoughts, the same meaning.

May your day be blessed by the silence that is kept. May the light of your love remember your days when the chair is empty.

Silence, yes, my old friend. There is so much to be found in the silence. I like your Art.
