I Love You.
Remember. Rethink. Rejoice in what has passed. What you’ve walked through. Where you are now. Even fallen stargazer lilies still blossom.
In the shelter of the rhododendron,
lilies grew solid and straight,
heavy with scent, blossoms and buds.
Rain came without warning
crashing onto the tin roof
accented by thunder
and sudden wind.
Morning light revealed
several large branches down.
Two lily stalks faced the ground.
My dear child do not turn away
from the sudden things of life.
Hear your own voice. You already know
balance can be regained
when light and life change.
Pick up the lilies.
Make something beautiful
of what remains.
